Seeking Forgiveness · Sunan Abu Dawud 1517

Arabic

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيَّ الْقَيُّومَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Transliteration

Astaghfirullahal-'azim alladhi la ilaha illa huwal-Hayyal-Qayyuma wa atubu ilayh.

Translation

I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Almighty, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining, and I repent to Him.

Whoever says this, Allah will forgive him even if he fled from battle — one of the gravest sins in Islam.
