Al-An'am (The Cattle)

Verse 62of 165

ثُمَّ رُدُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَوْلَىٰهُمُ ٱلْحَقِّ ۚ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُ وَهُوَ أَسْرَعُ ٱلْحَٰسِبِينَ﴿٦٢

Translation (Sahih International)

Then they His servants are returned to Allah, their true Lord. Unquestionably, His is the judgement, and He is the swiftest of accountants.

Word-by-word meaning

إِلَىilāto
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
مَوْلَىٰهُمُmawlāhumutheir Protector
ٱلْحَقِّ ۚl-ḥaqi[the] True

ٱلْحُكْمُl-ḥuk'mu(is) the judgment
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
أَسْرَعُasraʿu(is) swiftest
ٱلْحَـٰسِبِينَl-ḥāsibīna(of) the Reckoners

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

The Servants are in Allah's Hands Before and After DeathAllah states that He brings death to His servants in their sleep at night, for sleep is minor death. Allah said in other Ayat,إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يعِيسَى إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ(And (remember) when Allah said: "O `Isa! I will take you and raise you to Myself...
