Al-Hadid (The Iron)
Verse 5of 29
لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ﴿٥﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
His is the dominion of the heavens and earth. And to Allah are returned [all] matters.
Word-by-word meaning
لَّهُۥlahuFor Him
مُلْكُmul'ku(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earth
وَإِلَىwa-ilāand to
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
تُرْجَعُtur'jaʿuwill be returned
ٱلْأُمُورُl-umūruthe matters
Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Allah's Knowledge, Power and Kingdom are LimitlessAllah the Exalted states that He created the heavens and earth, and all that is between them, in six Days and then rose over the Throne after He created them. We discussed this before in the explanation of Surat Al-A`raf, so it is not necessary to repeat the meaning here.
