Verse 136of 200

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ﴿١٣٦

Translation (Sahih International)

Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.

Word-by-word meaning

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
جَزَآؤُهُمjazāuhumtheir reward
مَّغْفِرَةٌۭmaghfiratun(is) forgiveness
مِّنminfrom
رَّبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
وَجَنَّـٰتٌۭwajannātunand Gardens
تَجْرِىtajrīflows
مِنminfrom
تَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُl-anhāruthe rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnaabiding forever
فِيهَا ۚfīhāin it
وَنِعْمَwaniʿ'maAnd an excellent
أَجْرُajrureward
ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَl-ʿāmilīna(for) the (righteous) workers

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Interest (Riba) is ProhibitedAllah prohibits His believing servants from dealing in Riba and from requiring interest on their capital, just as they used to do during the time of Jahiliyyah. For instance, when the time to pay a loan comes, the creditor would say to the debtor, "Either pay now, or the loan will incur interest.
