Verse 55of 200
إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ﴿٥٥﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Meaning of `Take YouAllah said,إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ(I will take you and raise you to Myself) while you are asleep. Allah said in a similar Ayat,وَهُوَ الَّذِى يَتَوَفَّـكُم بِالَّيْلِ(It is He Who takes your souls by night (when you are asleep).) 6:60, and,اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الاٌّنفُسَ حِينَ مِوْتِـهَا وَالَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِـهَا(It is Allah Who takes away the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep.) 39:42.
