Verse 19of 53

ٱللَّهُ لَطِيفٌۢ بِعِبَادِهِۦ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ﴿١٩

Translation (Sahih International)

Allah is Subtle with His servants; He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

Word-by-word meaning

ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
لَطِيفٌۢlaṭīfun(is) Subtle
بِعِبَادِهِۦbiʿibādihiwith His slaves
يَرْزُقُyarzuquHe gives provision
مَنman(to) whom
يَشَآءُ ۖyashāuHe wills
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلْقَوِىُّl-qawiyu(is) the All-Strong
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mighty

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

The Provision of Allah in this World and the HereafterHere Allah speaks of His kindness towards His creation, in that He provides for every last one of them and does not forget anyone. When it comes to His provision, the righteous and the sinner are alike. Allah says:وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِي الاٌّرْضِ إِلاَّ عَلَى اللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا كُلٌّ فِى كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ(And no moving creature is there on the earth but its provision is due from Allah.
