Verse 18of 45

Translation (Sahih International)

And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination.

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Mankind is in need of Allah, and each Person will carry His own Burdens on the Day of ResurrectionAllah tells us that He has no need of anyone or anything else, but all of creation is in need of Him and is in a position of humility before Him. (O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allah.) meaning, they need Him in all that they do, but He has no need of them at all.
