Verse 12of 123

فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌۢ بِهِۦ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٌۭ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَكِيلٌ﴿١٢

Translation (Sahih International)

Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allah is Disposer of all things.

فَلَعَلَّكَfalaʿallakaThen possibly you
تَارِكٌۢtārikun(may) give up
بَعْضَbaʿḍaa part

إِلَيْكَilaykato you
وَضَآئِقٌۢwaḍāiqunand straitened
بِهِۦbihiby it
صَدْرُكَṣadrukayour breast

يَقُولُوا۟yaqūlūthey say
لَوْلَآlawlāWhy not
أُنزِلَunzilais sent down
عَلَيْهِʿalayhifor him
كَنزٌkanzuna treasure
أَوْawor
جَآءَjāahas come
مَعَهُۥmaʿahuwith him
مَلَكٌ ۚmalakunan Angel
إِنَّمَآinnamāOnly
أَنتَantayou
نَذِيرٌۭ ۚnadhīrun(are) a warner
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) on
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
وَكِيلٌwakīluna Guardian

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

The Messenger grieving by the Statements of the Polytheists, and His GratificationThis statement of Allah, the Exalted, to His Messenger comforted the worries that the polytheists were causing him due to their statements directed towards him.
