Qaf (The Letter Qaf)
Verse 19of 45
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ﴿١٩﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.
Word-by-word meaning
وَجَآءَتْwajāatAnd will come
سَكْرَةُsakratu(the) stupor
ٱلْمَوْتِl-mawti(of) death
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖbil-ḥaqiin truth
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
مَاmā(is) what
كُنتَkuntayou were
مِنْهُmin'hu[from it]
تَحِيدُtaḥīduavoiding
Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Allah encompasses and watches all of Man's Activity Allah the Exalted affirms His absolute dominance over mankind, being their Creator and the Knower of everything about them. Allah the Exalted has complete knowledge of all thoughts that cross the mind of man, be they good or evil.
