Supplication
Arabic Text
مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يُذْنِبُ ذَنْبًا فَيَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ الطُّهُورَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ إِلاَّ غَفَرَ لَهُ
English Translation
“No servant commits a sin, then performs wudu well, then stands and prays two units of prayer, then asks Allah for forgiveness, except that Allah forgives him.”

Allah is Shy and Generous. He is shy of His servant when he raises his hands to Him, to return them empty.

سَيِّدُ الاِسْتِغْفَارِ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ
The master of seeking forgiveness is to say: 'O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I uphold Your covenant and promise to the best of my ability.'
