He said: 'Kindness to parents.' I asked: 'Then what?' He said: 'Striving in the cause of Allah.'" This hadith is graded as sahih.

أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

English Translation

“I asked the Prophet: 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah?' He said: 'Prayer at its proper time.' I asked: 'Then what?' He said: 'Kindness to parents.' I asked: 'Then what?' He said: 'Striving in the cause of Allah.'”
