Verse 51of 75

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّٰمٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيدِ﴿٥١

Translation (Sahih International)

That is for what your hands have put forth [of evil] and because Allah is not ever unjust to His servants."

Word-by-word meaning

ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
بِمَاbimā(is) for what
قَدَّمَتْqaddamatsent forth
أَيْدِيكُمْaydīkumyour hands
وَأَنَّwa-annaAnd indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَيْسَlaysa(is) not
بِظَلَّـٰمٍۢbiẓallāminunjust
لِّلْعَبِيدِlil'ʿabīdito His slaves

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

The Angels smite the Disbelievers upon capturing Their SoulsAllah says, if you witnessed the angels capturing the souls of the disbelievers, you would witness a tremendous, terrible, momentous and awful matter,يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَـرَهُمْ(they smite their faces and their backs), saying to them,وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ("Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire.
