Verse 16of 88

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى فَٱغْفِرْ لِى فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ﴿١٦

Translation (Sahih International)

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

How Musa killed a Coptic ManHaving described Musa's beginnings, Allah then tells us that when he reached maturity, and was complete in stature, Allah gave him Hukm and religious knowledge. Mujahid said that this means prophethood.وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُحْسِنِينَ(And thus do We reward the doers of good.
