Az-Zumar (The Troops)
Verse 42of 75
ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴿٤٢﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَـبَ(Verily, We have sent down to you the Book) meaning, the Qur'an.لِلنَّـاسِ بِالْحَق(for mankind in truth.) means, for all of creation, mankind and Jinn, so that he may warn them therewith.فَـمَنِ اهْتَـدَى فَلِنَفْسِهِ(So, whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for himself;) means, the benefit of that will return to him.وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا(and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss.
