Az-Zumar (The Troops)

Verse 73of 75

وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوهَا خَٰلِدِينَ﴿٧٣

Translation (Sahih International)

But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter].

Word-by-word meaning

وَسِيقَwasīqaAnd (will) be driven
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfeared
رَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lord
إِلَىilāto
ٱلْجَنَّةِl-janatiParadise
زُمَرًا ۖzumaran(in) groups
حَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntil
إِذَاidhāwhen
جَآءُوهَاjāūhāthey reach it
وَفُتِحَتْwafutiḥatand (will) be opened
أَبْوَٰبُهَاabwābuhāits gates
وَقَالَwaqālaand (will) say
لَهُمْlahumto them
خَزَنَتُهَاkhazanatuhāits keepers
سَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeace be
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon you
طِبْتُمْṭib'tumyou have done well
فَٱدْخُلُوهَاfa-ud'khulūhāso enter it
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide eternally

Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

The Believers will be taken to Paradise HereAllah tells us about the blessed believers, who will be taken to Paradise in groups, one group after another, starting with the best of them: those who are closest to Allah, then the most righteous, then the next best and the next best.
