Verse 37of 123
وَٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ﴿٣٧﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned."
Word-by-word meaning
وَٱصْنَعِwa-iṣ'naʿiAnd construct
ٱلْفُلْكَl-ful'kathe ship
بِأَعْيُنِنَاbi-aʿyunināunder Our Eyes
وَوَحْيِنَاwawaḥyināand Our inspiration
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تُخَـٰطِبْنِىtukhāṭib'nīaddress Me
فِىfīconcerning
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۚẓalamūwronged
إِنَّهُمinnahumindeed, they (are)
مُّغْرَقُونَmugh'raqūnathe ones (to be) drowned
Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
The Revelation to Nuh concerning what would happen to the People and the Command to prepare for ItAllah, the Exalted, sent revelation to Nuh when his people hastened the vengeance and punishment of Allah upon themselves.
