Al-Isra (The Night Journey)
Verse 65of 111
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌۭ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ وَكِيلًۭا﴿٦٥﴾
Translation (Sahih International)
Indeed, over My [believing] servants there is for you no authority. And sufficient is your Lord as Disposer of affairs.
Word-by-word meaning
إِنَّinnaIndeed
عِبَادِىʿibādīMy slaves
لَيْسَlaysanot
لَكَlakafor you
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover them
سُلْطَـٰنٌۭ ۚsul'ṭānunany authority
وَكَفَىٰwakafāAnd sufficient
بِرَبِّكَbirabbika(is) your Lord
وَكِيلًۭاwakīlan(as) a Guardian
Commentary (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
اذْهَبْ`(Go,) I will give you respite.' According to another Ayah (Allah) said:قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ - إِلَى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ(Verily, you are of those allowed respite till the Day of the time appointed.) (38:80-81).
